Taking to X, the chipmaking mogul congratulated OpenAI on the launch of its newest and most powerful model, Astra, marking a pivotal moment in the race toward machines that can match or exceed human cognitive abilities. Huang highlighted the rapid evolution of the technology, noting how far things have come from early versions of ChatGPT to Astra in just four years.
The declaration aligns with sentiments shared by OpenAI leadership during the unveiling of Astra last Thursday. Company president Greg Brockman welcomed the world to the AGI era, suggesting that historians may eventually point to this specific model as the turning point where AI began outperforming humans at most economically valuable tasks.
